Lhasa, the Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, Barkhor market, and Sera Monasteries. Tour begins in Lhasa, where you  have time to acclimatize to the high altitude before visiting the Potala Palace. This towering structure, located on a hill overlooking Lhasa, was once the residence of the Dalai Lama and is now a museum and UNESCO World Heritage site. After the Potala Palace, you could spend time exploring Jokhang temple, Barkhor market, and other local attractions in Lhasa. Next, you could visit Dadong village and Sera Monastery, which is important Gelugpa sect monastery and centers of Buddhist learning in Tibet.

Outline Itinerary

Day Activities
Day1 Arrival at Lhasa. You will be greeted by our guide and transfer to the hotel in Lhasa. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Overnight stay at Hotel (Includes:  No meals)

Day2 Full day city tour in Lhasa: visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street.

Overnight stay at Hotel (Includes: Breakfast)

Day3 Full day city tour in Lhasa: visit Dadong village and Drepung Monastery.

Overnight stay at Hotel (Includes: Breakfast)

Day4 Drive to Shigatse via Gyantse (360km -7/8 hrs). On the way you will have the glimpses of Yamdrok Lake and in Gyantse you will visit Pelkor Monastery.

Day5 Morning visit Tashilunpo Monastery and after breakfast drive to Lhasa (280km-6/7 hrs).

Day6 Drive to Namtso Lake. The holy Namtso lake is the highest saline lake in the world. Drive back to Damxung for overnight stay.

Day7 Drive to Lhasa via visiting Chimelong Nunnery and Tsurphu Monastery.

  • Important note: there are two ways to enter into Tibet either by Nepal or Mainland China. Please be advised to travel to Lhasa require Tibet Travel permit and China visa and in order to get Tibet Travel Permit we must confirm tour at least a month in advance
