Lhasa, also known as the City of Sunlight,” is the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. It is located in the southeast of the region, on the north bank of the Lhasa River, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangpo River. Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world, with an average elevation of 3,700 meters above sea level.
