Nar Phu valley trek is a popular trekking route in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is an off-the- beaten-path adventure that takes trekkers through a remote and less-crowded region of the Annapurna range. The trail passes through narrow gorges, stunning mountain vistas, and traditional villages where the culture and lifestyle of the local people remain largely untouched by modernity. The Nar Phu Valley is home to diverse ethnic groups, each with their unique cultural heritage. Along the way, trekkers pass through the traditional settlements of the Gurung, Thakali, and Manangi people, among others. DETAILS ITINERARY:

Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu & transfer to Hotel (1,350m)

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our dedicated airport representative will warmly welcome with traditional Dhaka Khada and transfered to your hotel in (Check in at 1400 Hrs).

Day 2: Kathmandu city tour & trek preparation (1,350m)

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu Valley.

Pashupatinath Temple: Pashupatinath Temple is in Kathmandu. It’s dedicated to Lord Shiva. UNESCO lists it. It features pagoda-style architecture. It showcases intricate carvings. It stands by the Bagmati River. Daily rituals take place. Devotees frequent it.

Boudhanath Stupa: one of the world’s largest, draws visitors for its religious importance. Encircling the base are 108 niches with statues of the Dhyani Buddha Amitabha, symbolizing enlightenment stages. It holds significance for Tibetan Buddhists and locals alike.

Swayambhunath Stupa: This stupa is also known as the monkey temple by the tourists. The complex also has many other small stupas, Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples. It also offers beautiful views of Kathmandu city.After the city tour, you’ll return to your hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Jagat (1,410m/ 8-9 hrs)

After breakfast, we commence our overland journey from Kathmandu to Jagat. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours on the Prithivi Highway. Along the way, soak in the scenic views of snow-capped mountains, verdant rolling hills, and the Trisuli and Marshyangdi Rivers.

Day 4: Trek from Jagat to Dharapani (1,960m/ 7-8 hrs)

Today marks the beginning of your trekking adventure. Departing from Jagat, the trail ascends on a rocky path, passing through Chamje and Tal villages. Tal village is notable for its picturesque waterfall. After a steep climb of approximately 2 hours, you’ll arrive at a Kani, or stone shrine, marking the entry to Dharapani. Here, you’ll encounter a checkpost of the Annapurna Area Conservation Project, where your permits will be scanned.

Day 5: Trek from Dharapani to Koto (2,610m/ 5-6 hrs)

The trek from Dharapani to Koto will take approximately 7 hours. After 30 minutes of walking, you’ll arrive at Bagarchhap, where you’ll be treated to views of Manaslu (8163m), Lamjung Himal (6983m), and Annapurna II (7937m). Continuing further into the Manang valley, the path uphill remains relatively flat until Thanchowk. From there, you’ll gradually ascend to Koto, a small village where the inhabitants follow Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 6: Trek from Koto to Meta (3,560m/ 7-8 hrs)

In the morning, register your permit at the army check post as you enter the restricted area of Nar Phu Valley. Begin your trek along the river bank of Seti Khola, passing by a renowned Dharmasala. Continuing on, you’ll reach Meta village situated on the Tibetan plateau. Here, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Annapurna II (7937m) and Lamjung Himal (6983m).

Day 7: Trek from Meta to Phu Gaon (4,250m/ 7-8 hrs)

Today’s trek descends to the picturesque village of Kyang, crossing suspension bridges over various streams. Continuing alongside the Phu Khola on a rocky trail, you’ll eventually arrive at Phu Gaon. Along the way, keep an eye out for grazing blue sheep. Upon entering the traditional village of Phu through the ruined fort at the entrance, you’ll immediately notice the influence of Tibetan Buddhism.

Day 8: Acclimatization at Phu Gaon

Today, we’ll take a well-deserved rest in Phu village to explore and acclimatize to the thin air at this altitude. Phu is a stunning village inhabited by a mix of ethnic groups including Gurung, Ghale, and Tibetans. This presents a great opportunity to learn about their culture, traditions, and lifestyle. Additionally, we’ll visit the Tashi Lhakhang Monastery, the last monastery built by Karmapa Rinpoche.

Day 9: Trek from Phu Gaon to Nar Phedi (4,110m/ 6-7 hrs)

Today, you’ll check off another item on your to-do list by visiting Nar village. You’ll follow a cliff-trail and canyon adjacent to Dho Khola, with a visit en route to Zampa Cho Dzong. After about an hour, you’ll arrive at Nar Phedi, situated at an altitude of 3550m. Continuing onwards, you’ll encounter a steep climb towards Nar. Nar boasts relatively more houses, including some remarkable gompas. Don’t miss capturing the breathtaking view of Pisang Peak from here.

Day 10: Trek from Nar Phedi to Kang-La Pass Via Ngawal (3,660m,5,320m/ 7-8 hrs)

Our day begins with a trek uphill to Jhombu Kharka, also known as Kang-La, boasting outstanding views of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, and other Himalayan peaks. Along the way to Kang-La, we may encounter some yak herder’s camps. After soaking in the beautiful panorama of the Himalayas, we trek downhill to Ngawal.

Day 11: Trek from Ngawal to Manang (3,540m/ 5-6 hrs) 

Embark on your journey with a trek from Ngawal, a picturesque village nestled amidst towering peaks, to the cultural hub of Manang. Envelop yourself in the richness of local culture and revel in the awe-inspiring mountain vistas that accompany you along the way.

Day 12: Trek from Manang to Yak Kharka (4,110m/ 6-7 hrs)

Today, you will make your way towards Yak Kharka. Along this trek, the trail takes you through the charming village of Tengi. Ascend out of the Marsayangdi valley, passing by the quaint village of Ghunsa. Along your journey, you’ll encounter an old Mani wall nestled in a delightful meadow, before finally reaching Yak Kharka.

Day 13: Trek from Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,600m/ 3-4 hrs)

In just 3-4 hours of trekking from Yak Kharka, you’ll arrive at Thorang Phedi. The trail leads through expansive meadows enveloped by snowy peaks and glaciers. Upon a steep uphill climb, you’ll reach Thorang Phedi, the base of the renowned Thorang La Pass (5416m). This vibrant hub is often bustling with trekkers heading to Muktinath or exploring the Annapurna Circuit. With Thorang Peak (6144m) and other majestic mountains adorning the horizon, Thorang Phedi offers a delightful sight to behold.

Day 14: Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath vai Thorung La Pass (5,416m/ 7-8 hrs)

Ascending steep trails, we reach Thorong High Camp, the gateway to the highest mountain pass in Nepal, Thorong-La Pass. Climbing steep rocky ridges, we eventually reach Thorong-La Pass. Here, we indulge in the captivating panorama of the Himalayas before trekking downhill to Chabarbu. Continuing our journey, we trek for a couple of hours until we reach the sacred destination of Muktinath.

Day 15: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,700m/5-6 hrs)

We embark on a brief visit to Muktinath Temple, revered by Buddhists and Hindus worldwide. Here, we partake in a cleansing ritual under the 108 spouts, believed to absolve our sins. Continuing our journey, we trek downhill, soaking in the breathtaking vistas of Nilgiri Himal (7061m) and the Dhaulagiri range until we arrive at Jharkot. From Jharkot, we descend further until we reach the windy city of Jomsom.

Day 16: Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara and Half day Pokhara Visit (3,210m/6-7 hrs)

We board an early morning scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, soaking in the magnificent views of the Annapurna range throughout the journey. Upon reaching Pokhara, we check into a hotel.

Bindabasini temple: situated in the northern part of the beautiful lake city of Nepal is the temple of Bindabasini. Located near the busy Old Bazzar of Pokhara, the temple of Bindabasini stands proudly at about 3000 feet above the sea level along the Annapurna and Machhapuhhare Himalayan Range. Bindabasini temple, the temple of the guardian deity is of great religious value to the Hindus living in Pokhara.

Devi’s fall: Devi’s fall (also known as Devin’s and David’s) is a lovely waterfall lying about 2-Km south-west of the Pokhara airport on the Siddhartha Highway. Legend has it that a trekker (Devin, David) was washed away by the Pardi Khola and mysteriously disappeared down into an underground passage beneath the fall.

Gupteswore Cave: One of the largest caves in Pokhara dedicated to Lord Shiva is another nature’s wonder in Pokhara.

World Peace Stupa: The World Peace Stupa in Pokhara, Nepal, is a serene monument on Anadu Hill, offering stunning views of the Annapurna range and Phewa Lake. Built by Japanese Buddhist monks, it symbolizes global harmony and peace. Visitors hike to this white pagoda to enjoy its tranquil and reflective atmosphere.

Phewa Lake: is the second-largest lake in Nepal. It covers an area of about 4.43 sq km with an average depth of about 8.6 metres and a maximum water depth of 19 metres. The reflection of Mount Annapurna can be seen on Phewa Lake. Another attraction of this lake is Taal Barahi Temple, a pagoda-style temple on an island in the middle of Phewa Lake.

Day 17: Flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu (1,350m)

Finally, you will Flight Back to Kathmandu in the morning. The rest of the day in Kathmandu is free to explore the tourist sites and do shopping. In the evening, we come together for a special farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant.

Day 18: Final Departure

Today, you’ll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your journey to next destination.
